Hannah is a student at Brevard College, as well as a local to the Brevard area. She is majoring in Biology with a minor in Photography. Her studies, as well as her photography, are inspired by her lifelong fascination and love for wildlife and nature, and fueled by the diversity and beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.

In previous years, Hannah has focused primarily on her science major, working in the field with everything from bats to bog turtles, as well as on several independent research projects. As her experience and opportunities in the field of photography have grown, her recent successes include an award at the 2012 Brevard College Juried Student Show, having an piece selected to be displayed in City Hall, and selling her first image in the gallery.

Hannah plans to continue her internship to learn everything she can from her strong group of mentors and friends, and also to contribute as much as possible to the success of Bluewood Photography.

I photographed this gorgeous bird with my Canon 1D MkIV, 300mm f/2.8, with a Better Beamer fill flash at 1000 ISO, and felt fortunate to get this image of the bird which I am told is hard to find in this particular area of the country.

Other images from this 9 day trip to various parts of the country can be found on my website: www.hallooney.com.
